Treehugger.com, a website that offers advice for both “the eco-savvy and the green living novice” wrote about how the world has recently discovered what an immensely useful vehicle the electric cargo bike is. All of us at Keego certainly agrees. AND we are happy to help spread the word. Pack your helmet and your rain gear in the box when you don’t need it. You’ll fit a week’s worth of groceries in there, don’t worry!
On November 20, 2020, they published a great article that quote CityChangerCargoBike, who say that cargo bikes “can improve the image and general levels of cycling, replace over 50 % of urban transport-related trips, as well as enhance air quality, safety levels, and liveability of urban areas.”

This great article does a good job of showing off various kinds of cargo ebikes on the market. What we at Keego would like to add to this is of course our IoT and the Fleet Manager Portal that helps our courier company customers to manage whole fleets of Keego Delivery Ebikes.
Total transport emissions accounted for over 24% of global CO2 emissions in 2016 and if we are to save the world as we know it, we need to move to more environmentally friendly methods of transportation. Ebikes is a great way to decrease the cargo to vehicle weight ratio. In a world where consumers wants faster and more flexible deliveries, distribution centers have to move closer to the customers and drivers are more likely to just deliver one shipment and return to pick up the next one. Food deliveries via APPs like Foodpanda, Doordash, Deliveroo etc. etc. do the same in order to make sure the food arrives warm and fresh. We can’t afford to have these kinds of short distance deliveries utilize heavy vehicles like cars, vans or even motorcycles, even electric ones. Ebikes gives the perfect balance of weight, power, range and speed. Don’t waste a lot of power moving around the vehicle alone.
We should be happy that sales of ebike cargo bikes are going through the roof, up 50% year-over-year. There is hope for mankind. On an ebike.
