Introduction to the KG4 Combo Display and Operations

The Combo display has many important functions and shows the rider important information about the ebike and the ride.

 

Combo Display Functions:

  • Battery indication
  • Real time speed
  • Trip distance and odometer (ODO) reading
  • PAS level
  • Headlight
  • Error code
  • Parameter settings: Wheel size, Speed limit
  • USB charging function

 

Button Definition

The display has three buttons, in the following introduction, the button is named MODE, the + button is named UP, – is named as DOWN.

 

Power On/Off

Hold the MODE button to start the display and supply power to the controller. When turned on, press and hold the MODE button to shut off the ebike. In the Off state, the display no longer uses the battery’s power; leakage current is less than 1uA.

If you do not use the ebike for more than 10 minutes, the display will turn off automatically.

 

Speed/Trip/ODO

After turning on the display, it will show the real time speed. Press MODE repeatedly to choose the information you want to see. Displayed in sequence: real-time speed (SPEED) →single mileage (TRP)→accumulated mileage (ODO).

 

Trip Clearance

While you are on the trip interface, hold the MODE and DOWN buttons down for 2 seconds, and the indicator Trip data returns to zero.

 

Walking Assist

  • Hold the DOWN button for 3 seconds to start walking assist status. The ebike will keep an even speed output of 6km/h. The screen will show PUS.
  • The walking assist function can only be used when the user pushes the electric vehicle, please do not use it while riding.

 

Turn On/Off Headlight

When the external light is insufficient, the headlight should be turned on. Hold down the UP button for 3 seconds, the display notifies the controller to turn on the headlights. Hold down the UP button again for 3 seconds to turn off the headlights.

 

PAS Level Setting

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the PAS levels and change the output power of the motor. The default level range is 0-5. At level 0, the ebike acts like a regular bicycle. Level 1 is the lowest Power Assist level, level 5 is the highest. The default level when the display is turned on is 1.

 

Battery Indicator

When the battery voltage is high, the battery indicator shows five segments. When the battery has low voltage, the last indicator flashes, indicating that the battery needs to be charged immediately.

 

Error Code

When the ebike electronic control system fails, the display will automatically display an ERROR code. For the definition of the error codes, see the list below.

Error Code Description
21 Current abnormal
22 Throttle abnormal
23 Motor phase failure
24 Motor hall abnormal
25 Brake abnormal
30 Communication abnormal

The ebike will not continue to run after the fault occurs. Only when the fault has been eliminated can you exit the fault display interface.

 

USB Charging Port

  • The display comes with a USB port where you can charge a mobile phone. The output is 5VDC/500mA. While the display is turned off, please connect the data cable between the display and the phone, and then turn on the display to start to charge the phone. The charging port is still active when the display is turned off.
  • In any state, disconnect the power supply of the phone, charging will automatically terminate.
  • When the display is powered on, hold down the MODE, DOWN and UP buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds to start the USB charging function, and the display will charge the mobile phone.
